One of the motifs in Reservation Blues was religion, and how Indian traditional spirituality can meld together with conventional Christianity.Conversely, Reservation Blues was a little too much of an enigma as far as theme and plot line go for me to really get into it. On one hand I enjoyed reading a story about a place I know and with interesting situations and characters. Reading Reservations Blues was an interesting experience.A word to the wise, this review does contain spoilers. I hope you find this review helpful and thoughtful. This is an amazing book filled with whimsy and serious discussion. It’s sad that this book is not better known. I keep coming back to this book because Spokane is so close to home and the central themes this book presents are centralized on place, which is something that matters to me.
